Xochiquetzal
An original Aztec mythology artwork, made with the traditional punch needle technique in cotton and wool. Every loop is placed by hand, not printed, so no two pieces turn out quite the same.
This piece is made with the punch needle technique, a hand method where cotton and wool yarns are worked one loop at a time to build up a dense, textured surface. That process gives it its soft, tactile finish and warm, artisanal feel, and it’s also why no two pieces come out exactly alike.
The artwork depicts Xochiquetzal, the Aztec goddess of love, beauty, and flowers, and patroness of artisans and weavers in Mesoamerican mythology. It’s an original design, not a licensed or stock print, brought to a textile format that works as a statement wall hanging or a soft-textured floor piece.
